Hello, my name is Gary Kawano. I have been in the mortgage industry since 1994 which makes this my 28th year. I've stayed in this industry for so long because I truly believe in homeownership. I believe that it helps a community, helps the homeowner build and transfer wealth, and as a result, if asked what my favorite part of the job is, I'd have to say closing on a transaction as that moment signifies the moment that they can start living the dream. I love assisting clients and even specialize in VA and Self-employed borrowers. Throughout the process, I like to be a support for my clients. If there are ever any questions that they have, I am always available to answer it for them or to assist them in finding the answer if need be.
I currently live in Carlsbad, CA where I live with my wife and four kids and most of my time, when I'm not killing it as a mortgage loan officer, is spent with my kids. A staple of my life is attending sports games, dance recitals, and music activities for them. My personal passions besides family would be mountain biking, snowboarding, camping, and any and all types of fishing. Clearly, sports is woven into my family's life and while I may not play football or baseball, I will say that on top of my love to participate in some sports, I love to watch them as well. I was born and raised in San Diego and so I'm definitely a Padres fan and somewhat reluctantly, I remain a fan of the Chargers even though they moved to Los Angeles.
That is a little insight to myself and I look forward to having the opportunity to work with you!
